The Birthplace: Chattanooga

Silent Hour™ was born in Chattanooga — a city held by ridges, river wind, and the quiet strength of Cherokee homeland. It emerged during a moment of stillness, a moment when the land itself seemed to ask for pause, breath, and remembrance.

This movement did not begin in a studio or a boardroom.

It began in the open air — on a rainy October morning. It began in reflection — watching raindrops create ripples across the water. It began in ceremony — seated on a rock named Resurrection Rock, a favorite place of Robert Sparks Walker, founder of the Chattanooga Audubon Society.

Audubon Acres, which sits on the Historic Trail of Tears, is the cradle of Silent Hour™ — the place where stillness became practice, where practice became ritual, and where ritual became a movement.

HOMELANDS OF THE SOUTHEAST

Silent Hour™ honors the Indigenous nations whose stories shape this region. The Cherokee people, whose homeland includes Chattanooga and the surrounding mountains. The Muscogee (Creek) people, whose homeland includes Atlanta and the Chattahoochee River.

These nations shaped the cultural, ecological, and ceremonial landscape of Tennessee and Georgia. Their presence is not past tense — it is living, remembered, and carried forward.

Silent Hour™ stands in acknowledgment of these homelands, honoring the land that remembers, the rivers that carry memory, and the stories that continue to breathe through the Southeast.
